In the world today a lot of people live their lives disconnected from the world around them. This is particularly challenging for women. Continue reading below as we hear from the best homeopaths near me how can we honour different phases of our menstrual cycle.

Our menstrual cycles reflect the seasons and understanding the different energy each season of your cycle brings helps you to be more in touch with your body. Which, in turn, helps you to be more conscious of your potential.

When you are truly connected to the flow of your body, when you move with the natural energy of your cycle, you have a unique opportunity. You can become the best version of yourself, being reborn each cycle – shedding the things that are holding you back and working to move forward.

A lack of awareness of this potential leads you to being stuck in the same cycle, repeating the past and entrenching the problems in your life.

Traditional Practices

There are many different cultures that had rites of passage and other rituals that focused on the important parts of a woman’s life – at menarche, during pregnancy/birth, and at menopause. Cultures with a matriarchal hierarchy would link their agricultural fertility rites with the menstrual cycle.

Other cultures would have a space set aside for women to be during their monthly bleed. A place was set up, often a tent, to which they could retreat. It was a place of healing, resting, dreaming, and teaching. A place to receive support and be taught the wisdom of the women of their tribes.

Honouring Yourself during Phases of Menstrual Cycle

Our lives today are very different. While we might love the idea of a safe place to retreat to and be with other women, it might not be possible. However, there are still things that you can do to honour your cycle, try:

  • Journalling, focus on questions like:
    • How is my energy?
    • What do I want to let go of and not carry forward?
    • How can I best retreat?
    • What can I do to listen to this inward-focused call?
  • Lie still and listen to what your inner wisdom says to you, record what you feel inspired to hold onto.
  • Create a space to honour the feminine, decorating with things that remind you of the energy of your cycle.
  • A guided meditation to connect with the energy within yourself.

And here in our apothecary, we would love to invite you on our monthly women’s sacred circles. Experience the sacred space with other women as we honour ourselves! Reserve your spot here.
